They are commonly cross-searched and may be treated as comparable in some supply chains, but they are not a universal one-line substitution. Quote against the buyer’s governing standard and confirm chemistry, mechanical condition and MTC.

Is 430F suitable for Swiss-type machining?

It is commonly selected for automatic and Swiss-type turning because sulfur improves chip breaking. Bar condition, straightness, diameter tolerance, surface and tool setup still need to match the machining process.
